Eight books of Vernon Watkins' poetry, all hardback except the last, which is a paperback. The Influences, Bran's Head Books, first edition 1976, ISBN 0905220080; One of 350 limited edition copies, un-numbered. A few dabs of white (looks like Tippex) on fore-edge otherwise entirely unmarked and unworn. No DJ. The Lamp and the Veil, Faber & Faber First Edition 1945. Name on front endpaper, otherwise unmarked, book is VG, DJ is chipped at corners and split up spine. The Death Bell: Poems and Ballads, Faber &Faber First Edition 1954 No inscriptions, book & DJ lightly rubbed at corners, some foxing to page edges. Selected Verse Translations with an Essay on the Translation of Poetry, Textual Editor Dr Ruth Pryor, Enitharmon Press, First Edition 1977, ISBN 901111759. No inscriptions, book virtually unworn, DJ has a touch of corner rub. This is a selection from the many translations of European poetry made by Vernon Watkins, including substantial sections from French & German, etc. I That was Born in Wales, University of Wales Press, 1976. ISBN 0708306152 Ex library, Nice condition, sunned cover (especially the spine), no DJ. Ballad of the Mari Lwyd, Faber & Faber, First Edition 1941. No inscriptions, cover gently sunned, no DJ. The Lady and the Unicorn, Faber & Faber , First Edition 1958. A couple of numbers written on prelims, suggesting that this may be from some private library. Covers sunned, no DJ. and lastly, the only paperback: New Selected Poems, Fyfield Books 2006. ISBN 9781857548471. Unmarked, unworn, could pass for new.
